August Challenge Paris Tag

Here is my completed tag for the August Challenge. I followed the instructions for the challenge. I made the flower in the upper left hand corner and added a vintage earring that I broke the back off of for my metal. I also added a prima flower in the lower right hand corner with a antiqued brad. My material is the lace along the bottom of the tag and around the upper left hand corner under the flower. I added a embossed butterfly made with sheet music, added a music sheet punch border on the left side and added a strand of pearls along the bottom of the lace edge. The crackled paint is along the left side and under the flower in the left hand corner. You can see the brown chipboard underneath of the acrylic paint. I also used glossy glue dribbled around the edge of the upper flower and sprinkled it with a little diamond dust for some sparkle. I will put it up for sale after the challenge is completed.

Handcrafted Noodleboard

Actually my husband found this adorable tray in the country sampler magazine from this months issue and wondered what it was. So I contacted the lady that had her displays on it thinking it was hers and here it belongs to the country sampler to use for props, but she did tell me what it was called. An old fashioned noodleboard, the one in the magazine looked like treenware, which I would have loved to get, but is so expensive. So I went online looking and found a primitive country store on ebay that makes them custom made and in any color you want. Well it came Friday and it is just beautiful. It sits on your stove top and you can actually use it to display some of your favorite kitchen decor. I ordered mine in black & red, which was antiqued. It was a great price for a custom item and the detail to the color was wonderful. I fell in love with the one in the magazine, but this one is great. I will take a photo of it tomorrow and list it if anyone is interested in it.

Madison

Here is a photo of my Madison who is also a rescue she will be with us 3 yrs. She is a mommy's girl, she follows me all over the house, it is like she is part of my body. I love her so. I don't get many photo's of her because she is also afraid of the camera.

Devon

I have to share this with my FB friends. Last night I was getting ready to go to bed and I like all the dogs to be with us in our room, so I know where they are in case of any kind of emergency and I couldn't find Devon. So I came back out into the living room and I could hear her breathing but I couldn't see her anywhere and there was only 1 small light on. So I got closer to where I could hear her breathing and here she was on the sofa laying on top of the chenille throw that she loves with the pillow on top of her body. It was so funny I had to take a picture. She is afraid of the camera so as soon as she sees it she runs to hide, but since she was asleep it was the perfect time to get an updated picture of her. So here she is. She would have stayed there all night if I would let her. She is such a good girl. She was our first rescue in 2004, her owners didn't want her anymore and didn't even give her a name, poor little girl. She is so well mannered and just adorable. We have 3 other rescues, they are like kids they all have their own little personalities & quirks and being bull headed, but we love them all. I hope you get a kick of her.

Christmas Blown Glass Table Top Figurines

I have added 2 blown glass christmas figurines to my etsy site. I have priced them at a very reasonable price. I have only been able to find one of them online else where and the price was almost $100.00 and no longer available. Crackled Acrylic Paint

I just watched a video on youtube on how to create your own crackled paint. I am sure there are tons of you out there that already know how to do this, but I didn't and the video made it look so simple. I can't wait to pick out my color and crackle my project.

Cell Phone & Home Phone Scam

Safety warning 90# on your telephone I dialed '0' to check this out, & the operator confirmed that this was correct, so please pass it on, This is true, & also applies to cell phones!)  PASS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW I received a telephone call last evening from an individual identifying himself as an AT&T Service Technician (could also be Telus) who was conducting a test on the telephone lines. He stated that to complete the test I should touch nine (9), zero (0), the pound sign (#) & then hang up. Luckily, I was suspicious & refused. Upon contacting the telephone company, I was informed that by pushing 90#, you give the requesting individual full access to your telephone line, which enables them to place long distance calls billed to your home phone number. I was further informed that this scam has been originating from many local jails/prisons. DO NOT press 90# for ANYONE... The GTE Security Department requested that I share this information with EVERYONE I KNOW. After checking with Verizon they also said it was true, so do not dial 90# for anyone !!!!! PLEASE  HIT THAT FORWARD BUTTON AND PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!!  This has been verified on Snopes that this is true. Be careful. Please pass it on to your family & friends.

How to Use this Spellbinder

Is there anyone out there that can tell me how to use this spellbinder. I have sent several emails to the spellbinders website and nothing, so I was hoping that there is someone that has used this and can please tell me what to do. I would really appreciate the help. Barrack Obama ( I can't stand him )

Is there anyone out there that watched Dateline on NBC channel 10 in the NJ area? How devastating it was to watch this poor town with no jobs, homes, businesses or food. I cried through the whole show. Our wonderful president Barrack Obama should have been watching it and seeing how he is destroying our country. He is a disgrace. I am also tired about people commenting that he isn't liked by some because he is a black president. Well to all you people that think he isn't liked because he is black take another look, he is biracial, white mother, black father, stop using the race card for ever stinking complaint you have, enough is enough. Instead of him going on vacation and golfing he needs to take a look at what he has caused to our country, it is bankrupt, and now they want to raises taxes. How can any person pay anymore taxes that can't even get a job, because there aren't any. I can't wait for 2012 so him and Nancy Pelosi can get off their high horse and hit the road. Maybe he should have an infant child, a 1 yr old and a 2 yr old and live out of his car for a winter with no money or diapers and see how he likes it. Would he like it if his girls were in that situation, not at all. I need to stop, I am so mad. I am sickened by seeing that little Ohio town with nothing. These people are living in tents in the middle of winter, no heat, no money, no food, no job. You need to take care of the United States and the hell with the other countries, let them take care of themselves.

Happy Retirement

The card listed in this post is a card I made for one of my husband's co-workers that is retiring after 33 years of being a Registered Nurse and no less in the NJ State Prison. We have been invited to her retirement party that her daughter is surprising her with next week. I wanted to make something special for her. Rich told me that she loves vintage photos and the beach so I created a card with both. The flower that you see in this photo are all prima flowers except the center rose, which is an antique resin rose pin that I purchased at an antique store. I also have added a shell clipboard chip in the lower corner that is glittered and a few rhinestones on the lower left hand corner. I used stickles glitter to highlight the dogs collar and the ribbon around her hat. I think it came out great. If I was selling this I would have to easily price it at $6-7 dollars due to the fact that the vintage pin cost me $3.00, but well worth it. I hope you enjoy seeing this recent project of mine. Music Sheet Paper Flower

Attached you will see a vintage inspired paper flower made out of sheet music. I have added a music note brad to the center of the flower. Hat Pins

Okay, here are the 2 hat pins I made earlier today. I plan on using them in a project I am working on. Just need to find 1 more thing to complete it. I am sorry that they look blurry, but I think they came out alright.

I just loved this glittered purple felt so I made a little bird out of it and added to some card stock that is decorated with a glittered design on it in purple. Enjoy.
